Medical facts about fungal nails.
Fungal nails are unattractive, frequently infected with bacteria - have a foul smelling odor and often become painful. The fungal organisms can be transmitted by personal contact -and increase the risk of other medical complications. Unfortunately, fungal nails are considered a cosmetic – not a medical problem by insurance carries.

What is laser nail treatment – how does it work!
The Pin-Pointe Foot Laser destroys fungal nail organisms with a beam of light that passes through the nail – zapping fungus - without injury to the adjacent tissue. The nail becomes clear over several months 90-120 days - as the new growth replaces the diseased nail tissue.

How the treatment process works …what to expect from us!
On the initial visit, you will have a professional evaluation and consultation with the doctor to discuss your nail condition, proposed treatment and expected results. In some cases, laser services can be provided on the initial visit.

How long does the treatment take?
Generally, initial consultation and treatment can be completed in about one hour.

Will I need more than one treatment?
One treatment is usually adequate to destroy the fungal nail organisms. Periodic follow up visits may be requested to assure adequate removal of diseased nail - and healthy growth of new nail tissue.

Is the procedure painful?
No anesthesia is required and there is minimal discomfort. Some patient state a mild warming sensation during treatment - but no pain!

Is there a recovery period?
No, you may return to normal activities promptly.

Will the fungal nails return?
Generally no! Fungal organisms are always present on our skin and in our shoes and we will advise you on appropriate foot hygiene to prevent reoccurrence.

When may I polish my nails or get a pedicure?
We recommend the topical application of a nail fungicide for two weeks following laser treatment to facilitate the removal of diseased tissue and enhance new growth. All nail adornments should be removed before consultation, treatment and follow up visits. Normal nail pedicures may commence two weeks following laser treatment.

NOW Laser nail technology can zap fungal nail infections – and restore the healthy, normal appearing nails you desire …we can help!
